New Home Cards!

TWO colleagues of mine moved into their first homes with their respective partners last weekend! I decided to create them cards to celebrate the joys of their first mortgages!!

Unfortunatley my photographs are a bit dark!!!

I used the Waltzingmouse Stamps set ‘A Cottage Home‘ to stamp the house, porch and topiary pots. I coloured everything in using my Promarkers. The roof is ‘Cornflower’, the windows and door are ‘Sky Blue’, the walls & chimneys are ‘Cool Grey 1, 2, 3 and 4’, the window glass is ‘Tea Green’, the facia is ‘Sky Blue’ and ‘Powder Blue’, the lights are ‘Soft lime’. The topiary is ‘Grass’, ‘Leaf Green’, ‘Forest Green’ and ‘Pine’, the trunk is ‘Walnut’ and the terracotta pot is ‘Terracotta’ and ‘Chestnut’. The garden path is ‘Honeycomb’ and ‘Apricot’ and the grass is ‘Grass’ and ‘Lush Green’.

For the sentiment I used the Waltzingmouse ‘Gift Card It‘ set & stamped the sentiments straight onto the textured card base. I fussy cut the house, porch and topiaries. I attached the porch to the house with foam dimetnional stickers, I attached the house to the card base with roll-on glue and attached the topiaries either side using dimentional foam pads.

Change of address card

Well now that I’ve moved home & unpacked a few things (I’m still living in Cardboard City at the moment!!!) I’m sending out cards to my friends to let them know my new address.

I used cream gate fold cards for the base. Using the Memory Box Grand Madison Window die to cut windows out of white card I set the inserts of the window frames aside for later.

I decided which bit would be the bottom of the window and stamped the ‘New Home’ sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps ‘A Cottage Home‘ in Island Indigo.

In two of the ‘window inserts’ I stamped the flowers from the Stampin’ UP! ‘Perfectly Preserved’ set, then used the Cannery Set of dies to cut them out. I had some brown Tim Holtz Core’dinations cardstock and cut out the largest of the flowerpots from the Memory Box ‘Garden Pots’ die.

I inked up one end of the smaller gingham stamp from ‘Gingham & Co.‘ with Rasperry Ripple ink and stamped the two remaining window outcuts to make blinds for the window.

Change of address cards

I attached the window to the left hand side of the card, stuck the ‘blinds’ in the top window sections, attached the flower pot and flowers and drew in the stems with Lucky Limeade Stampin’ Write markers. The ‘blind’ one the right-hand panel of the gatefold card did a good job of holding the card shut because it was such a good fit in the window cut out.

New home thank you

Awww! One of my Mum’s good friends gave me a very generous ‘Welcome to your new home’ present – it was SO generous of her, I just had to say a HUGE thank you, so I created this (rather late) last night to send to her to let her know my appreciation.

I used the Waltzingmouse A Cottage Home set for the house and path and coloured the front door in Island Indigo and the roof with Wisteria Wonder Stampin’ Write markers. The Pinstripe Mini backgrounder stamp was a free gift from Waltzingmouse stamps during a stamp release, and I inked it with Island Indigo.

The Thank You wood mounted rubber stamp was one I had from ages ago & I have no idea where it was from, inked in Staz On ink and punched out with the Stampin’ up! Large Oval punch (2″ x 1 3/8″).

I cut a strip of Island Indigo card and attached it to the front with roll-on glue, then attached the pinstripe at an angle, then the house image and finally I attached the sentiment with foam pads for a bit of dimention.

New Home thank you

My own place!!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything has happened very quickly – we exchanged contracts yesterday & I got the keys to my first flat today!!!!!

You can probably tell from all the exclamation marks that I’m thrilled! I would like to say a HUGE thank you to my parents without whome this would never have been possible x x x

First flat

My best friend from school has just bought her first flat (which is tough at this time so I’m really thrilled for her!).

I wanted to make her a card ASAP so it would arrive when her flat was still ‘new’ so I’ve gone for a very clean and simple card!

I used an A6 white card and my Tim Holtz ‘Bricked’ Texture Fades Embossing folder for the base.

Next I found a nice dark green piece of card from my stash and attached my Memory Box Grand Madison Door die with low tack tape and ran it through my Big Shot.

I stamped the sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps ‘A Cottage Home‘ set in silver ink on the door, then attached it to the front of the card with double sided tape. I had to use my bone folder tool to emphasise the crease at the hinge, because it was warping the card at first.

Last, but not least I used some Glossy Accents (Ranger) to attach a small dark green button from my stash (that matches quite well, I’m sure you’ll agree!).
